Zarqa Nawaz is a Canadian writer, journalist, broadcaster, and filmmaker who created Little Mosque on the Prairie, the world’s first sitcom about a Muslim community living in the west. The show premiered to record ratings on the CBC in 2007, ran for 6 successful seasons, and is now broadcast to more than 60 countries. Join us as Zarqa reads from her hilarious bestselling memoir, Laughing All the Way to the Mosque (2014), and shares her experiences growing up as a Canadian of Muslim faith. Zarqa is appearing in conjunction with her daytime keynote address at the Newcomers and Refugees in Niagara Community Forum, taking place at Silver Spire Church.
