Membership

You are eligible for a free library membership if you:

  • Live in St. Catharines
  • Work in St. Catharines
  • Study in St. Catharines
  • Own property in St. Catharines

You can obtain a library membership card at any library branch. You will need to provide sufficient identification showing correct name & current address (See: Identification Requirements below).

Educator Memberships

Educator memberships are available to educators currently working or living in St. Catharines.  This includes Kindergarten to Grade 12 classroom teachers in public and private schools and licenced daycare employees.  The membership allows educators to borrow library items for an extended period without accruing fines.

Additional identification, such as current proof of property/business ownership, employment or school enrolment may also be required. If applicable, it will need to be shown each year as part of the annual identification check.

Purchase a Membership

If you aren't eligible for a free library card, you may purchase a one year membership with full borrowing privileges for a fee of $75.

Identification Requirements

For all memberships we require sufficient identification showing correct name and current address.

  • A valid Ontario Driver’s License or
  • A valid Ontario Photo ID card or
  • Two pieces of valid identification (one must have current address)

You must show identification each year as part of the annual identification check.
Examples of identification accepted are listed below:

Replacing a Card

If your library card is lost, stolen or damaged, you can get a replacement card for a $4.00 (Teens/Adults) or $2.00 (Children) fee. Remember that you are responsible for any material borrowed with your library card. If your card is lost or stolen, please report it to library staff as soon as possible.
